The power to change

Inspiring people

Change is a really hard thing.  Does anyone ever want it?  Are we ever ready for it?  I mean, really?   Sure, there are a few out there who get bored easily or are constantly searching for the “golden ticket,” but most of us are satisfied (notice how I didn’t say “happy”) with complacency.  Living same old, same old.  Comfortable with comfortable.   I can attest…it’s much easier not to change…NOT do to anything.  One thing is for sure.  Change is a journey, one that is often slow and with peril.    Even though we may know where we’re going, the road ahead is long and winding.  There will always be obstacles.   For some people, obstacles are a discouragement (they don’t even try).  But some view them as expected hurdles that need to be jumped in order to accomplish the goal.  Those who make it to the end are much stronger from it.

That’s why I find B so remarkable.   B underwent harrowing consequences for going down one path in life.   At 31, he was a convicted felon with a heroin addiction and facing a possible life sentence.  One event changed B’s life forever forcing him to turn his life around.   And he did.   Hear what the turning point was for B and how he stay motivated despite the tough road ahead.  Read an impressive story about the power of determination in the face of overwhelming obstacles.
